Week 2 Div 1 & 2 Preds!
Bac's Week 2 Preds
Saunamen - Team.Fantasy
The Clash of the Finns. Two very traditional and experienced teams face each other in a match that might get surprisingly close.
Saunamen opened the season with a relatively comfortable victory over TTS. Nevertheless, the game wasn't as dominant as we've used to see from the reigning champions. TTS got a 2nd hive up on lost and with some earlier fades they could've even held it. In the end the individual skill of marines like Tane, Zharp and Nade was still enough to stop the Hungarians though. Tane's alien play was devastating, but I feel TTS never really pushed the sauna alien play to the limits.
Team Fantasy opened the season with a 4-0 against Quaxy. They seem to be playing some well rounded NS and zh is one of the best commanders and alien leaders in the league. Kuitmo, Aleksi and NsN are all capable marine and lifeform players.
The match isn't going to be a walk in the park for Sauna. Fantasy is well capable of taking rounds unless Sauna steps up their game to the full potential. I think we'll see some really well thought and organised tactical play as both zh and Peach have solid game sense and ability to lead. Sauna still has the upper hand due to their top level play experience and huge individual players, but especially orbital might turn out to be really close.
My pred is 3-1 for Sauna. Fantasy takes the Orbital alien round.
Biggest Impacts:
Sauna: Peach, Tane, Zharp
Team Fantasy: Zh, Kuitmo, Aleksi, NsN
Gardeners - Team Russia
This week Team Russia needs to prove that they can play consistent marine rounds. Gardeners aren't the easiest opponent for changing the course though.
The Gardeners surprised me with their solid play on week 1. Of course there are a plenty of experienced and skilled players on their lineup, but still the teamwork and well organised play surprised me. The lifeforms were a little flashy, but otherwise their game seemed to be going fine. I'd say they are now the top contender for Saunamen's throne.
Team Russia was a little disappointment if you ask me. Their alien game seemed to work quite good, but on the other hand their both alien rounds were decided so early on that it's difficult to judge the actual gameplay. Their marine rounds on the other hand were quite chaotic. Players like Morvie and Macpersil never reached their marine potential and iPwn got 2 quite easy rounds against Ru Rines. Ru really needs to work on their marine work if they want to challenge the top teams this season.
This one is all about Ru's marine performance. The Gardeners aren't definitely going to give any freebies and their marine round with Enigmatic's shotgun is a threat to any team. At this point the Gardeners definitely have the upper hand, but I still wouldn't count out the Russia either.
My call is 4 - 0 mowover for Gardeners, but Morvie's shotgun, MP's lerk and Orbital are all capable of causing upsets.
Biggest Impacts:
Russia: Morvie, MP, Marine performance
Gardeners: Enigmatic, Tweadle (comm/fade)
TTS - iPwn
This one is still unpredictable. Both teams played some interesting aliens and far less interesting marine rounds on week 1.
TTS was actually a positive surprise on week 1. They were surprisingly close of upsetting saunamen on ns_lost alien round and they got totally dominated only on ns_tanith marines. I'm not a big fan of their marine tactics involving huge amounts of shotguns and w2/a0 combinations, but the alien gameplay was surprisingly effective. The biggest problem for them is the lack of lifeforms right now.
iPwn disappointed me a bit. Bigbanana never got his 2 sg pushes working and they gave Ru 2 almost free rounds with them. The alien rounds were a lot better, but Ru's lack of organisation gave them a relatively easy opposition.
iPwn is definitely the favourite for this, but the week 1 proved that TTS can get close to upsets, especially on aliens. Combine this with terrible iPwn marine performance and Orbital as the 2nd map and you've got some possible surprises coming.
My prediction is 3-1 for iPwn. Orbital marines are still too difficult for them to win.
Biggest Impacts:
TTS: Miglez (comm), Alien play
iPwn: Bigbanana (comm), Phil, Marine play.
MAAD's Week 2 Preds
Hi guys.
That week I was too busy and I could't make the predictions and the most important, see matches for make a good one. Then,I am sorry but I will try to solve that problem making a mini-predictions for the 2 restant 2nd div matches for this week:
.ngte vs turtle:
Ok, this is for me the match of the week because both teams are performing really nice.First, ngte performed a good match but they were owned by argentinians the first 2 rounds and they changed the server.I can't understand why this, you should set the servers before the match, but they didn´t good. With the diference of ping, they owned their second map it finished in draw.
Turtle played really nice but I don´t really believe in this team because I think they dont have a decent com but they have a new player, Vlad Dracul from flatline. He can carry maybe some rounds, but this isn´t enough to win 4-0, then I will bet thinking in the maps in 3-1 for turtle.
Final Result : 3-1 turtle (ngte win their alien round in tanith)
Impact players:
- ngte: top.
- turtle: Vlad Dracul, Bungle(as aimbot).
LEGO-2 vs 250 ping.
This is an interesting match between argentinians(they are playing really nice) and the surprising LEGO-2 the Sequel.I am very surprise about that round vs BM with LEGO-2.LEGO performed a really nice alien rounds and we were near to draw the match. Maybe a lack of teamplay in alien rounds, some semi-faults like the not enough good rush in main base and some teamwork was the diference. In Alien, that team needs to work better, there is a lot of work to do.
Argentinians were playing really good vs ngte and I know them and they are really good aliens. The ping make them like tanks and I was playing them with a 1div team-like(team spain) and were enough high to make us tech a lot and play a long round vs 2 hives. In marine, their tactics are not complex, they play a typical rush-style with sguners pressing and a balanced play but I think they don´t have enough experience and knowlegde to beat some dirty tricks of LEGO-2 defence.
Then, I will make a vote of confidence for LEGO-2, because I underrated the team and they are performing competitive mentality.
Final Result: 2-2 (teams winning their alien rounds)
Impact players:
- 250 ping: Snail as leader.
- LEGO-2: [Dogo] as faith-man
