none of them are really good options, 4 is the best one so far.

option 2 is clearly the best!? after all playing 2 matches a week isnt going to be impossible for an inactive community that's just proved itself incapable of playing even 1 match per week

Teams struggled to complete matches in GO while still playing UGL and pcw's. The problem teams have is motivation and teams dieing as they aren't playing enough matches. Things are being very over simplified by people here.

You need to strike a balance really.

less devisions = different skill lvls in each div.

We all know that lower skilled clans normaly don't make it through 2 seasons. If new clans have to play against high skilled clan(s) in there div they will either forfiet the match before it starts or they will rage quit during the game.

Clans are not dominating the scene like they did for the previous year or so, infact the scene is similar to how it was in the months around the last attempt at a clanbase tourny but only less teams, a larger division is more plausable.

i had an idea, but i posted it in the forum voting thread and it got deleted, cba rewriting it, maybe some admin read it though. ns competetive is getting really dull anyway.

I read it but it but the thread was starting to turn into a debate and I'd said about 2 posts above that I would clean the thread soon in red. I think your suggestion tied up with a few of the ideas we're thinking of anyway and you can always pimp them to frG.

Not that many of us cares about NS since Empires mod comes out on March 4th. It's like NS but runs on the Source engine and has a website. 'Nuff said.

Although, rather strangely, I don't get the fps drops on the Source engine like I do in the HL1 engine. And for all the bad press the HL2 netcode gets- I can see it being better in terms of gameplay than NS simply because you don't have to deal with celerity, leaping rocket skulks who leave their hitboxes back in Madrid/Warsaw.

So it makes up for the lack of flying skorpians.

Indeed, but atleast it's something else to try out while we wait for a game to replace hl1 NS. About time someone made a game with CPL standards, hasn't been one since what, cs came out? I actually thought empires was a bf2 mod, cause it sure looks the same crappy enviorment ;d , but if it's source i might just try it out.

ensl does need new ideas and it also needs fresh talent. The ensl admins are known to be lazy and, a few of them, hard to talk too.
We have seen several attempts of other leagues ect (nsgn for e.g.) and many more that have failed.
ensl needs more than 3 people to run it... and it needs people from different back grounds, not a group of people that have all been clanned together.

Wide range of admins = wide range of views, ideas and a better league.

well tbh empires looks alright for the odd game. Its a bit of a battlegrounds game. You will play now and then.

Nuclear dawn may not have aliens but that looks like a real game.

NS being a very skillful game is ultimately it's downfall in the long run, in my opinion.

The huge skill gap between newbie and mediocre player is HUGE.

Who were the last top players to join NS? Off the top of my head- pantsu and Hickz. And I think both now go back to 3.0.

but no seriousley, NS is a skillfull game and yes this causes problems. Some noobs cba learning it. I cant remember how many people ive brought to this game saying try it for 2 weeks or so then ull get used to it. Out of 5 ppl i think 1 guy played it for more then 2 weeks at the start. He loved it. Unforunately his mom is tight and he cant play anymore =<

i'm not Jesus(NO i'm not)but after the 1° season i realised that this league wont work,and after the 2nd season i thought everyone
have to see it,but nooo same shit with the 3rd one!35 clan in the beginning 10 active at the end!

my idea is a fast ladder thats rewards active clans (1-2 wars a week) and inaktive clans( >2 wars in 3 weeks) can burn in hell!

-it wont be reseted after 7-10weeks !so if a clan folded it can't rename (1-2 rooster changes)and start in the first or 2nd div next season (they have to stick together more than 3 weeks to get placed under the top 3 (5 ,10 whatever)

-active "non Pro" Teams can get a place under the top 10 (i think its better than first one in Div5 rofl)

I think this is more honest than becoming the champion in this league cause you won 2-3 wars in a row -_-!

opt2: only 3-5 clans can play this speed but they wont cause the championship titil lose in value,cause you can get one every month!

It's not the ENSL's fault people quit the league you know. Why invent a wheel again? ENSL does its job relatively well but (a lot of) clans don't.

Well if you win 3-clan division (because other clans died/quitted), the title is not going to be any more valuable. And btw. opt2 doesn't require the league to be arranged every month. We could still arrange it like every 3 months.

If you can't play two games a week, well you're quite dead then. Half of the teams are propably going to quit the league, matter what we do. Shorter league is.. well more interesting and less static, and above all, it enables bigger division size which prevents the whole league from collapsing because half of the clans die / quit.

Thus we should try opt2 with bigger divisions and see if the outcome is better than current one. 6 weeks seem to be an eternity for current eu ns-scene. Those clans who are good, play usually a lot of matches, so the speed of the matches won't really be a problem for them.

This is speculation but I belive, when the speed of the league is higher, less clans would get jealous about other's people scores and less clans would rageguit.

Otoh, I believe we should ALSO try a ladder. EU NS-ladder wouldn't exclude EU NS-Leagues because playing matches is fully optional + ENSL won't be running all the time. The problem is that clans die and born all the time so the ladder wouldn't give a realistic picture of ns-scene. Eg. a prem clan dies and gets born with a slightly different team, meanwhile non-prem clans gets to the top. Then it'll take some time for it to reclaim its place. As this happens all the time, the whole ladder will get really mixed. Anyways, this is not necessarily a bad thing, since clans who have played actively deserve their place in the top. All this would encourage activity and more long-living clans - and actual scores from those matches (not the rankings) would help ENSL crew to arrange more balanced ENSL-divisions. Ladder would also be a nice choice for those who play less frequently but still play.

I dont get why you all like opt 2. It's just like Opt 3 but with the added effect of a 20% bonus risk of killing the league.

we will never have a league that works. keep it how it is. when the ns site is back up we can talk with the americans again and we will all be happy..

1) Get a full set of staff to work on this. Mike is quitting ns, right? Sounds to me that he won't be here to help ENSL anymore. 2 people ain't gonna cut it, 3 was also abit weak. Don't get me wrong here, you're all doing a great job, but it's obviously not enough.. People have private lives too, no? Get atleast 5 head admins that knows what's going on in competetive NS. Oh yeah, advertizing on this site about needed help ain't gonna work. Go ask people instead.

2) Sort out a shorter, better system for matches. Talk it over and use the public opinions as guidance. Make sure season 4 is played with this.

3) Kick Fana in the nut and make him do that NS-EU SCENE webby he was talking about it. Anyone that knows php or whatever he's doing go kick his ass too h'okay!
