I think I saw a picture or video or something on here where the player had a purple X for a crosshair. Any idea how I could get a similar crosshair? I find all the vanilla options too hard to see and generally find myself just trying to guess where the middle of my screen is when shooting.
Another problem I'm having is seeing skulks in dark areas.. I was just skimming over one of the interviews you have on the site ("Gibzz"), where he mentined hightening his gamma levels or something. Does this help? If so, how do you do it?

The dark view is a big vista problem, you can download the gamma-panel and diverse crosshairs at ensl.org/files
Next time u better check our website first .)

I can't quote posts for some reason...
Saperion: I can't find any files in the files section that mention crosshairs. Infact they don't really mention anything. How am I meant to know what's in them?
huhuh: Do I put that as a command somewhere mate?
necros: First result is a forum suggesting that I download the 9L pack. Do you agree with that, or...?

lightgamma 0
texgamma 0
gamma 3
However you may need to raise lightgamma or texgamma to 1-2 if you start getting an error.
Also you can use gamma panel. I don't use vista or windows7 because of the gamma issues....

Ok well I've downloaded the gamma panel thing. I'm on vista. Should I just use the gamma panel or are the above commands the way to go do you think?

lightgamma wont work with vista/7.
putting contrast to max in your graphic driver equals lightgamma 1 though.

Don't use the knife gaming pack, the NS 3.2 changes made it outdated. It'll fuck up your crosshairs for one.
The 9L pack isn't rocket science. You should be able to get what you want from it unless you're a computer noob.
For controlling gamma/contrast I recommend cl_gammaramp 0 and gammapanel.

I think I'll just stick with this gamma panel thing, it seems pretty easy to change stuff back.
I've downloaded the 9L pack. There's no purple X in the crosshair list!!
Which one do you guys use? b1 medium looks like a pretty good choice.
Also, the readme files only seem to address the "additional files" section, but there's a whole other "put this in your NS folder" section... The userconfig thing has a whole load of stuff in it and I have no idea what it does.

Ok so say I want to set the b1 medium crosshair as my default for pistol/shotgun/lmg/hmg, do I just select those four .txt files in the b1 medium folder, copy them, and then paste them in my NS sprites folder? If so, am I meant to delete the current .txt files already in my sprites folder?

Yes, the four text files and the nl_crosshairs.spr or whatever it's called. Just copy+paste and click yes when it asks you if you want to overwrite the files that are already there.

Remember to put cl_customcrosshair "0" in your userconfig.cfg or config.cfg, unless you're
using the included userconfig.cfg."
I don't put the quotation marks around the 0 for this bit, do i...?

That is generally why people use them as the default ones are really pointlessly big.

Ok last question....
In the bunny hop guide, it says
"bind mwheelup +jump"
OR
"bind mwheeldown +jump"
Can you not put both in? Will that not work? Also, it only mentions this working for aliens... Is it not possible to bhop as a marine? I swear I remember nubros mentioning something about marine bhop before...
